TRAINING FORMAT AND DISTANCE LEARNING The course comprises 120 hours, divided in modules of three hours each, with classes once a week in the morning and in the afternoon, for a total of 20 days, of which 17 of theoretical lessons and 3 of practical training. Lectures will be in English. Lecturers have been selected for their competence and their teaching skills. The presence in person is encouraged, but it is mandatory only for the three days of practical training at the end of the course, comprising a mock litigation and a mock negotiation. Apart form the practical training, the participation to lessons will also be possible via internet. All the participants will have access to video-recordings of the lectures, the presentations and the material of the course, which will be downloadable from the website with a personal password

Educational project

The 2025 edition of the Industrial Property Course - Patents is aimed at providing a professional training in the IP field, with a specific focus on the Unitary Patent and the Unified Patent Court. The course is aimed at the attainment of the Patent Litigator qualification according to R. 12 of the Draft rules on the European patent litigation certificate and other appropriate qualifications pursuant to article 48(2) of the agreement on a Unified Patent Court.

Requirements

Only European Patent Attorneys entitled to act as professional representatives before the European Patent Office pursuant to Article 134 of the European Patent Convention are admitted to the course.
