Context
At the entrance of Parco Sud
Off Campus Cascina Nosedo is located on the border between the urban fabric and the South Milan Agricultural Park, in a renovated farmhouse. The Corvetto-Chiaravalle ‘fringe area’ is occupied by important urban objects and is at the centre of regeneration processes which have increased the environmental value of the area, especially on the agricultural side and also thanks to the commitment of local associations. The innermost part as well, although marked by social problems, is affected by urban transformation, whether extensive or more circumscribed.
Topics
Circular and sustainable practices
Off Campus Cascina Nosedo is an observatory on circular practices, the circular economy and sustainability. The projects activated to date are turning the space into a living lab focused on different research and experimentation themes: analysis and management of surpluses (flows of waste materials), in order to promote local circular micro-economies; sustainable management of rainwater, with an on-site measurement and monitoring system; soil health; innovative urban agriculture practices. Further issues involved include, among others, areas such as: food supply chain, landscape, urban policies, slow mobility, sharing actions, civil economy. Further actions aim at strengthening the operational capacity and skills of the local association network.
Collaborations
