We look forward to welcoming you to Politecnico!

Join us on 29 March at the campus in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 32, Milan, from 08:30 to 16:00. Discover how, from engineering to design, and from sustainability to digital transformation, we can work together to build a more sustainable future.

Thematic sessions and lab tours

Join the classroom sessions to explore the latest challenges faced by architects, urban planners, designers, and engineers, and discover the skills you'll need to enter the job market.

You'll also have the opportunity to visit some of our most advanced research labs.

Below you can find the taks held in English:

#Askastudent: discover the life as an international student at Politecnico di Milano | 09:00 – 09:45

An exclusive session to gain firsthand insights into life at Politecnico di Milano! Hear directly from current Bachelor and Master students about PoliMi’s innovative programs and their experience on campus.

Why Attend?

  • Get authentic stories and advice from students from different countries and programmes
  • Understand why these students chose PoliMi for their studies.
  • Learn key details about the university

The architectural project: disciplines and digiskills | 10:30 – 11:15

One of the characteristics of the AUIC School is the integration of contents and subjects belonging to different disciplines and skills. Studios and integrated courses combine complementary themes and aspects to reaffirm a polytechnic approach that reflects the current model of professional work.

Life-cycle of bridges and networks under climate change | 12:00 – 12:45

Bridge engineering is embracing a life-cycle-oriented approach and a systemic vision at infrastructure scale to ensure safety and resilience of critical infrastructures in a changing climate. Join this seminar to learn about challenges and opportunities for structural engineers in addressing the impact of climate change on life-cycle of bridges and infrastructure networks.

Metamaterials and smart materials for better structures, energy and environment | 12:30 – 13:15

In this talk, we consider materials at the cutting edge of technology, with emphasis on metamaterials, namely engineered materials whose properties stand well beyond the features of natural materials, and smart materials, which are typically endowed with enhanced multi-functionality. We show how the cooperation between different disciplines, like civil engineering and material science, can underpin the development of innovative materials, yielding important outcomes in the fields of structures, energy, and environment.

Full programme in Italian here

We will be happy to welcome parents at the information booths, which are open to all and do not require prior registration. However, we kindly ask them to prioritise students when it comes to bookings and access to the thematic sessions and lab tours, as spaces are limited.

Booths

The booths are open to everyone, no registration required.

At the booths, you can meet lecturers and students from our various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, and get a real feel for the research activities carried out at Politecnico.

If you have any questions about admissions, fees and financial aid, student accommodation, or if you'd like to find out more about opportunities for studying abroad or career prospects, come and chat with our staff at the Student Services booths.

You'll also have the chance to speak with students from our associations and representative bodies, as well as those participating in international competitions.

Green Open Day

Each year, we strive to minimise the environmental impact of this large-scale event.

To achieve this, we're implementing the following measures:

  • Reducing paper usage: Information materials will be accessible via QR code, rather than printed.
  • Reusing event infrastructure: Where possible, we'll be repurposing existing staging and setups.
  • Cutting back on plastic: You'll find numerous water refill stations across the campus, offering free drinking water.
