Descrizione dell'iniziativa
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to quantum information processing and algorithm design, combining theoretical principles with practical implementation. Students will explore fundamental quantum protocols such as entanglement distribution, super-dense coding, teleportation, and quantum key distribution (BB84). Additionally, they will analyze key quantum algorithms, including Shor's for integer factorization and Grover's for quantum search, while also learning about error correction and mitigation techniques essential for reliable quantum computation.
A strong focus will be placed on practical applications using the MathWorks MATLAB Support Package for Quantum Computing. Students will design, simulate, and execute quantum algorithms on real quantum hardware through cloud-based services, visualize and analyze quantum circuits, and explore mathematical optimization frameworks such as QUBO, VQE, and quantum machine learning.
By the end of the course, students will apply their knowledge in a project, engaging with real-world use cases to strengthen their understanding of quantum computing challenges and solutions. The best projects will be selected for publication on the MATLAB Central File Exchange platform.
