Founded in 1877 by the architect Louis Labbè, the Bordeaux National Higher School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ENSBA Bordeaux) is the starting point for the teaching of architecture in the city of Bordeaux, the capital of the Aquitaine region whose historic center has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2007. The ENSAP Bordeaux is part of the network of French public architecture schools and consists of two departments, each in charge of the practical and pedagogical organization of training in Architecture and Landscape. Students at ENSBA acquire an aptitude to work in an international context, develop a careful sensitivity towards public policies, respect the national territory and contribute to the exchange of knowledge and practices with the scientific and cultural community in order to implement research in the fields of Architecture and Landscape. The campus includes a multimedia library, a large computerized classroom and, thanks to its location in the university district of Talence, allows easy access to galleries, museums, shops and nightlife. Student life is enriched by the activities of several student associations, which organise professional meetings, readings, cultural activities and events.
