Work-life balance: the key to well-being
We believe that people's wellness also depends on the possibility of reconciling life and work times. For this reason, we encourage numerous initiatives designed to support the reconciliation of these two dimensions. We believe that a good balance between professional and personal affairs not only improves the quality of life of our employees, but also represents a strategic lever for the development and overall well-being of the organization. Our daily commitment is to create conditions that allow each member of the community to achieve this balance, with the aim of improving out-of-work time quality and optimizing energies dedicated to working activities.
For years, we have been providing our people with flexible ways of managing their employment, with the dual objective of increasing productivity and work effectiveness, and ensuring a greater work-life balance, functional to improve individual and organizational well-being. Smart working, remote work and satellite work: in agreement with their manager, each worker has the opportunity to take advantage of the solution that best meets their needs and lifestyles.
Our University concretely supports parenthood and the possibility of combining the family and professional dimensions thanks to various initiatives that allow a better balance of private life and work times, also for same-parent couples: parental leave for mothers and fathers, access to flexible and part-time forms of work, presence of nursery schools and summer camps at the Bovisa and Leonardo Campuses and at the territorial poles, combined with on-call baby-sitting services.
Politecnico di Milano recognizes the value of the working and extra-working time of its people. For this reason, we have activated some agreements that aim to offer various time-saving services at discounted prices with the aim of improving the quality of leisure time and allowing our employees to fully enjoy their leisure moments, dedicating themselves to their loved ones and their interests: childcare, home management and removals, legal assistance and handling of paperwork, travel and leisure organization.
To favor a better balance between work and leisure time, our University encourages all members of the community to practice sports, providing them with quality sports spaces and infrastructures and guaranteeing facilitated access formulas. Within our campuses, our workers have the opportunity to access gyms, attend a wide range of sports courses, and participate in tournaments in the most diverse disciplines.
