ECOLE SPECIALE DES TRAVAUX PUBLICS, DU BATIMENT ET DE L'INDUSTRIE is a "Grande Ecole" which trains the largest number of executives in France in the field of construction and transport planning. Founded in 1891, ESTP Paris, today, is part of the Université Paris Est scientific group. In more than a century, the ESTP Engineering Faculty has trained more than 40 thousand engineers, technical experts and construction specialists and represents the institution with the highest number of graduate students in this field. The 5 branches of engineering training - Public Works; Building; Electrotechnics and Mechanics; Topography; Energy efficiency in construction - summarize the concept expressed by the founder Léon Eyrolles, who said that "the construction engineer must be a general expert who, in addition to the technical skills of the engineer, has professional and commercial skills from the entrepreneurship". The biggest professional federations in the field of Public Works and Construction of Electrotechnical and Electronic Industries, Mechanical Industries; the members of the Register of Engineers-Surveyors and companies in the field of construction, are important partners of ESTP and members of the Board of Governors and actively participate in the training and professional integration of these students. The ESTP campus is located in Cachan, a lovely town in the near southern outskirts, that can be reached with fifteen minutes by metro (RER B) from the centre of Paris.
