Founded in 1743 and guided by the motto 'Knowledge in movement', the Friedrich-Alexander-University (FAU) is located in Erlangen, the smallest city in Bavaria and one of the best preserved examples of baroque town planning in Germany. Seminars, libraries and cafeterias are never far away, students contribute to the special charm of the city and there is always something to do. The International Comic Salon, the puppet theater and the poetry festival are just some of the examples of activities to choose from.
