The Polytechnic of Castelo Branco, founded in 1980, is a public institution of higher education, whose institutional culture is characterized by the richness that derives from the diversity and uniqueness of each of its six schools: Agriculture, Applied Arts, Education, Management , Health and technology. The city of Castelo Branco, located in the region of Beira Interior Sul (south inner Beira), 60 km from the Spanish border, is a city facing the future, in 2007, it was considered one of the best cities to live in Portugal and the seventh best city in Europe, thanks to its excellent quality of life. As for economic activity, there has been an enormous growth of all industrial activities and services, which confirms its historic role as the capital of the Portuguese hinterland.
