Lund University was founded in 1666 and is ranked among the world's top 100 universities. The Faculty of Engineering, LTH (Lunds Tekniska Högskola) is one of Sweden's largest engineering faculties and it is the largest faculty at Lund University. At LTH, innovative research and the development of technologies in the fields of engineering, architecture and industrial design are promoted all over the world. For example, continuous ink jet technology has been developed here, that allowed to produce high-quality colour images. The first echocardiogram for ultrasound examination of heart was developed here, a revolutionary technology for diagnostics, as well as the first artificial kidney in the world that is possible to use in surgery. The tetrahedron milk packaging, with a very small amount of material to be used and it guarantees maximum hygiene. Lastly, in a project launched by Ericsson Mobile, bluetooth was developed here, this opened a whole new world for the electronics industry. LTH's strategies are based on diversity and cross-border cooperation and are characterized by gender equality, participation, quality and renewal. Most of the programmes are held in Lund, but some of them are hosted at the Helsingborg campus and the aviation school is located in Ljungbyhed.
