MUSASHINO ART UNIVERSITY

Musashino Art University (MAU) was founded as a private school and officially became a university in 1962. Located in Tokyo, MAU currently is one of the leading art institutes in Japan. Since itsearliest days of MAU's mission has been to train professionals equipped with a good general education and of superlative character for careers in various fields of the formative arts, focusing primarily on the realms of fine arts and design. To achieve this,MAU is aware of the need to arm students with a combination of generalist and specialist skills,it provides art education that allows students to function with true freedom as human beings while producing artists of well-rounded erudition. The College of Art and Design and the Graduate School or Art and Design cover several branches of design including visual communication design, industrial, interior and craft deisign, scenography, display and fashion design, science of design and design informatics.
