La Cambre is one of the leading art and design schools in Belgium. It has around 700 students studying for over 17 artistic options ¿ many of which are rare or even unique options in Europe. In addition to artistic training, the students receive a sustained, general and specialised theoretical and technical training and are encouraged to undertake internships. The programmes of study are organised over 5 years and 2 courses: Bachelor¿s and Master¿s. The school also offers a postgraduate teaching diploma and prepares for a Doctorate in Art, in conjunction with the university. La Cambre is situated within the historical site of the eponymous abbey. It has an exceptional library and significant archives. It organises many public events. La Cambre is a member of the Brussels-Wallonia European University Pole and of the cross-disciplinary platform ARTes ¿ with the Conservatoire de Bruxelles and the INSAS. It comes under the French-speaking Community of Belgium.
