
The Paris-Est-Créteil-Val-de-Marne University (UPEC) is a multidisciplinary public university founded in 1971. It is located in the Île-de-France, spread over three departments: Val-de-Marne, Seine -et-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis. The UPEC brings together 7 faculties, 8 schools and institutes, an observatory and 33 research laboratories. The main seat of the university and its headquarters are in Créteil. Since 2007, UPEC has been a founding member of the Paris-Est university research and higher education hub, which in 2014 became a community of universities and institutes. The university offers bachelor and master degrees as well as doctoral programmes in various sectors: Law, Administration, Literature, Medicine, Economics and Management, Educational Sciences, Science and Technology. The UPEC contributes to the dynamism and development of the eastern Ile-de-France region through an active partnership policy with companies and communities involved in the territory, aiming at the professional integration of students and scientific and technological collaborations that encourage research and the promotion of innovations. Regarding student life, the UPEC has several student clubs and associations in the fields of sport, humanitarian aid and culture.
