Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro PUC-Rio, founded in 1940, was the first private institution in the country created by the Catholic Church. In addition to being an institution of higher education, PUC-Rio has undertaken the task of assisting the Community on the basis of Christian ethical values, solidarity and human respect and represents for its students an area of achievement and an opportunity to overcome challenges and development.
