SETUBAL POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE

The Setubal Polytechnic Institute (IPS) founded in 1979, is a public institution of higher education, located in the metropolitan area of Lisbon, in the Setúbal region. The region hosts strong companies in sectors such as, for example, the paper and automobile industry, and holds an extremely important geostrategic position, as it represents a gateway to Europe. The Setúbal region offers a vast number of recreational and leisure activities, including vineyards and traditional cuisine. Here are a myriad of cultural events, including some of the country's biggest summer festivals, its enormous cultural diversity finds its translation through the various forms of artistic expressiveness that occupy an important space in the life of their cities. The numerous theaters , forums, cinemas, auditoriums and museums host a great variety of shows and exhibitions every year, which excel in their cultural heterogeneity. Summer is full of popular festivals and pilgrimages that light up the districts and cities of the district with the colors and flavors of the region, making room for music, bullfights and street animations that attract thousands of visitors every year. IPS currently includes five higher education schools, supplemented by student associations and a series of functional units and services. The IPS has two campuses: the Setúbal campus, where four schools are located - Setúbal School of Technology, School of Education, School of Business and Administration, School of Health - and the Barreiro campus, where the Barreiro School of Technology is located . All premises and equipment are of high quality and up to date. There are numerous well-equipped laboratories, documentation centers, audiovisual equipment and computer facilities available for students and teachers.
