Founded in 1868 to provide the state of Bavaria with a natural science learning center, the Technische Universitat Munchen (TUM) played a vital role in Europe's technological progress. It is committed to progress and innovation in the areas of science that promise sustainable improvement in the way people and society live. To achieve this goal, interdisciplinary research areas have been created in: Health and nutrition, Energy and natural resources, Environment and climate, Information and communications, Mobility and infrastructure. She regularly obtains excellent results in various university rankings, for example, she is ranked seventh among the "most innovative universities in Europe" and is listed as the best German university in the "world ranking of QS universities".
