Founded in 1993, the University Alfonso X el Sabio (UAX) is a private university located in Villanueva de la Cañada, approximately 30 km from the centre of Madrid. The UAX offers a wide range of courses in the following fields: Health and Sports Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Social and Legal Studies, Education, Translation and Interpreting. Strongly focused on internationalisation, its qualifications are fully adapted to the European Higher Education Criteria and 15% of the student community is international. Practical training is also a fundamental part of the comprehensive teaching method, that includes solid practical experience within the many laboratories, as a means of reinforcing theoretical studies. The University Alfonso X el Sabio works closely with the business world, enabling students who are in their final years to do internships before they enter the labour market.
