Founded in 1450, the University of Barcelona (UB) is the largest university in the region of Catalonia, delivering the broadest and most comprehensive offering in higher educational courses. The UB is also the principal centre of university research in Spain and has become a European benchmark for research activity, both in terms of number of research programmes as well as for the excellence these have achieved. The UB has six campuses throughout and outside Barcelona, creating a unique relationship with the city and the wider region.
