
The Leibniz Universität Hannover is a public university based in Hannover, Germany. Founded in 1831, it is the second largest university in Lower Saxony after the Georg-August University of Göttingen. It is part of the TU9, an association formed by the nine leading polytechnic universities of Germany. He is also a member of CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research). He also collaborates in the management of the Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB), the German national science and technology library which is the largest library in the world of its kind. At the University of Leibniz there are currently almost 30,000 students studying in nine faculties, architecture and landscape; civil engineering and geodesy; electrical engineering and computer science; law; mechanical engineering; math and physics; natural Science; philosophy; economy. and about 3,100 researchers working in over 180 institutions. The university's main building is the Welfenschloss Royal Palace in the Welfengarten.
