With 8,000 students, 1,400 professors, researchers and administrators, 10 research centres, 7 faculties and 2 schools, UMONS can be seen as a dynamic and modern university located in the heart of the city of Mons. According to the QS World University Rankings, it ranks 3rd in Belgium for quality and productivity of researchers. The agreements between this partner university and Politecnico di Milano are with the Engineering Faculty which trains, since 1937, open-minded and innovation-oriented engineers and offers five Masters of Science in the field of: Chemical and Material Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology and Mining Engineering. The Master in Architectural Engineering is also available. The courses are provided in French, with the exception of Electrical Engineering, offered also in English. All programmes are also recognized by the French State, they have the EUR-ACE recognition at European level, and therefore they are useful for international mobility employment of its graduate students. The faculty has close relations with companies that encourage students to challenge themselves with the world of work, including through internships or research.
