The University of Valladolid (UVA) is the largest public university based in Valladolid, in the autonomous region of Castile and Leon. Founded in 1241, it is one of the oldest universities in the world. The UVA has seven campuses distributed through four cities of the region - Valladolid, Palencia, Soria and Segovia - and offers a wide range of degrees at bachelor and master level, as well as PhD programmes, in the areas of Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Law, Engineering and Architecture. As a complement to academic activities, the university has a broad offer of cultural, sports and artistic activities as well as programmes that foster environmental education and volunteering. The institution is strongly focused on research and technology transfer, and has strategic research partners both in Spain and abroad.
