DIPARTIMENTO DI DESIGN

The Executive Interior Yacht Design Post Graduate Program (with ECTS) at the Milan Polytechnic provides the tools to manage the design and construction process of naval interiors e nautical, from the project brief to the definition of general plans and details executive interior fittings thanks to the integrated management of design languages of interiors and exteriors, of the materials and techniques of on-board fitting out, of the aspects of ergonomics, of naval engineering and construction techniques, and of the equipment plant engineering.

The Executive Interior Yacht Design Post Graduate Program (with ECTS) of Politecnico di Milano provides the tools to manage the design and construction process of naval and nautical interior, from the project brief to the definition of general plans and details executive interior fittings thanks to the integrated management of design languages of interiors and exteriors, of the materials and techniques of on-board fitting out, of the aspects of ergonomics, naval engineering and construction technology, and equipment plant engineering. The course is aimed at interior design and architecture professionals who want to deepen all the aspects dedicated to the design of interiors for boats (motor yachts and superyachts) and for cruise ships with a particular focus on materials and construction and shipbuilding techniques. Object of study and project will be the general plans of vessels as well as the layout of the interior spaces and the same custom furniture items. Participation in the specialization course offers the achievement of the following training objectives: development of planning (ability to operate in terms of problem setting and problem solving for the definition of interiors of boats and ships from cruise from concept to detailed design); development of technical skills specialist for the design of on-board spaces and made-to-measure furnishing solutions; acquisition of the principles, procedures, methods and techniques of preparation of naval and nautical stationary; development of skills related to the executive definition of interior both in 3d and in 2d drawing for production and supply management staging; development of skills related to the organization of the construction site for the phases of set up and decor; development of the ability to work in a group and to propose oneself authoritatively in the professional world; ability to manage team conflicts and foster creative processes.

The Post Graduate Program (with ECTS) is aimed at candidates holding a Bachelor degree or Master Degree or First or Second Level Academic Diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Industrial Design. The Commitee reserves the right to admit candidates holding the aforementioned qualifications in disciplines other than those specified above, if the course can be a complement to the candidate's training or skills and professional experience demonstrated by them. Equivalent foreign qualifications in their respective University Systems will be considered valid.
