Vaccinations for Italian employees abroad

In the field of occupational safety, vaccines are one of the protective measures necessary for the protection of employees' health and are thus compulsory.

The vaccinations to be adopted in the field of occupational medicine are:

  • compulsory vaccinations required for biological risk (Title VIII of Italian Legislative Decree No 81/2008)
  • vaccinations to be evaluated, possibly recommended.

Vaccinations to be evaluated include those required for access to countries subject to biological risk.

If you are planning to travel abroad to countries where it is reasonable to assume that vaccinations are necessary, you should contact the Centro di Profilassi Internazionale (Milan, Via Statuto 5 ph. +39.02.8578.8566) at least 30 days before the trip. The employee will undergo an assessment of the type of trip; the recommended or mandatory vaccinations will be evaluated also in relation to your state of health and the type of activity that you will carry out.

Vaccinations against a specific biological risk are the responsibility of the employer, as they are part of the health surveillance examination protocol. Expenditure incurred in advance by the employee will be reimbursed in full by his/her Department.
