GRADUATE SCHOOL IN CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

PARIS, FRANCE - Partner university code: F PARIS063

Founded in 1896 by Charles Friedel, chemist and mineralogist, co-discoverer of the famous Friedel-Crafts reaction, Chimie ParisTech is a multidisciplinary research centre that bases its activity around two main topics: molecular chemistry in the department of Friedel and Energy, Materials and Process Engineering at the Henri Moissan department. The second department takes the name of one of the rectors of Chimie ParisTech, that received the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1906 for the isolation of fluorine and the development of a high temperature furnace. At Chimie ParisTech, research and technological innovation are closely related to scientific training. The mission of the Parisian Grande Ecole is to train chemists and chemical engineers able to take high-level positions in chemical and related industries: its graduate students find jobs with managerial profiles in the chemical industry, metallurgy, ceramics, polymer industry, nuclear industry, water treatment industry and process engineering, pharmacy, risk management, as well as in many other technical sectors. The training cycle in the engineering field consists of 2100 hours of work, with about 40% of practical work in the laboratory, and two internships. The university is a member of the PSL University (Paris Sciences et Lettres), located in the heart of Paris that combines excellence and diversity to bring together all sectors of knowledge and creation in the arts, engineering, science, humanities and social sciences. With 17,000 students and 4,500 professor-researchers, the PSL can be one of the largest universities in the world.
