Dario Zaninelli is a Full Professor at the Politecnico di Milano, where he earned both his degree and PhD in Electrical Engineering. Vice Rector of the Piacenza Campus, he has also served as Chairman of the Transportation and Logistics Engineering degree programme.
His research, documented by more than 250 publications, focuses on electrical systems for transportation, electrical safety and safety management procedures, power quality and electrical systems for energy.
Appointed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research as a member of the CEI Council, he was also nominated by the Italian Prime Minister as an expert in electrical systems on the Special Committee for national infrastructure projects to be funded through the NRRP, established by the Superior Council of Public Works.
Among his many institutional roles, he is a member of the Provincial Commission for Public Entertainment Safety within the Prefecture of Milan, focusing on aspects of electrical safety. He was formerly a member of the Commission for Road Tunnel Safety and the Commission for Railway Tunnel Safety under the Italian High Council of Public Works.
A Grande Ufficiale al merito della Repubblica Italiana, he was awarded an Honorary Degree in Energy Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
