Manuela Grecchi is Full Professor of Technical Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, where she took a degree in Architecture and a PhD in Building Engineering.
She is Vice Rector of the Lecco Campus and she has held many official positions over the years. She has served as Vice Rector with responsibility for the built heritage and head of the University’s Strategic Project “Città Studi Sustainable Campus”, applying good practices to improve the environmental quality of the campus. She has also led and coordinated the PhD Course in Building Systems Engineering and the Master’s course in Building and Architectural Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
She was also as an Expert Member of the project for preventing and mitigating risks to buildings (Mission Body of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Government), with the task of studying and determining critical structural and energy issues in our built heritage.
She is also involved in teaching and research, focusing on matters related to the upgrading of existing disused assets, with a particular focus on energy efficiency and liveability. She is the author of many publications on the subject of reclamation and building design, and has taken part in research projects with Italian and European funding.
