The Track in Micro and Nano Systems is a multidisciplinary path designed to enrich your skills in micro and nano technologies, addressing the most advanced challenges in the field. Extreme miniaturization, innovative materials, and cutting-edge fabrication techniques are just some of the interconnected challenges that characterize this ever-evolving field.
Participating in the Track will prepare you for a professional future in both industry and research, with applications in strategic sectors such as electronics, medicine, energy, aerospace, and the environment. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, you can explore opportunities to create your own startup, developing innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence, microrobots, innovative sensors, and lab-on-a-chip devices to revolutionize medical diagnostics.
The Track in Micro and Nano Systems is not just a study path, but an immersive and collaborative experience, where students with different backgrounds work together to tackle real challenges as in the most advanced research centers or innovative companies.
The Track in Micro and Nano Systems was developed in collaboration with STMicroelectronics.
The study plan for the first year is customized based on the chosen Master's degree course.
Students of Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology will focus on the use of innovative materials for micro and nanometric scale systems, while those of Engineering Physics will delve into new production processes and their applications in micro and nano systems. Mechanical Engineering students, on the other hand, will acquire skills in the mechanical design of miniaturized devices.
In the second year, all students will converge in joint courses, forming a multidisciplinary group essential to tackle the complex challenges of this ever-evolving field.
